Kim Neal is a private client partner based in the March office. Kim specialises in helping families to plan for the future and protect their assets and their loved ones through effective use of Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and Wills. Kim helps a wide range of clients, from younger clients making a Will on buying a house or becoming a parent to slightly older clients making an LPA to protect themselves in case they become unable to manage their own affairs, either through accident or illness. Kim also works with clients to obtain and administer Probate when someone dies.
Kim really enjoys helping and supporting people through what can be very difficult times in their lives. Her clients can expect a solicitor with a sensitive, caring approach who considers other practice areas that may overlap with private client. Kim recognises that each matter is different and she pays particular attention to the specific needs of her clients.
As a partner in the firm who both lives and works in March, Kim is committed to the ongoing expansion of Fraser Dawbarns’ client base within the town.
Kim studied law at Northampton University, where she graduated with a 2:1 and won the 2008/9 Sweet & Maxwell prize for the best dissertation by a law student in year 3. Kim then studied the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law at Moorgate, London.
After gaining her LPC, Kim worked as a paralegal in a specialist family law firm in Peterborough, before moving to a local firm to train as a solicitor. During her training, Kim studied seats in conveyancing, litigation and private client. After qualifying in April 2017, Kim worked as a private client solicitor at another local firm before coming to Fraser Dawbarns in December 2020.
Kim is an affiliate member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP), a global professional body, comprising lawyers, accountants, and other practitioners that help families plan for their futures. Kim has a STEP Advanced Certificate in Administration of Estates.
Outside work, Kim has previously provided free legal clinics for Women’s Aid and has also been involved with student mentoring programmes. Kim loves reading and spending time with her two young children. Kim also really enjoys yoga and swimming.
