Our staff testimonials give a first-hand insight into what it is like being employed by Fraser Dawbarns. You can read the full quotes from our staff here:
“Fraser Dawbarns is a modern, friendly and forward-thinking firm, yet retains old-fashioned values where everyone is treated as an individual person, and the Partners are friends, not just employers.
The firm offers many opportunities for progression, whether that be supporting those who have recently obtained their Law Degree through their practical training via the LPC, progression through the CILEx Law School route to becoming a Chartered Legal Executive, Council for Licensed Conveyancer training or one of our newer apprenticeship schemes.
The offices are professional, but relaxed and friendly, where everyone is very welcoming. If ever a “life emergency” occurs, whether that be a sick child or a broken-down boiler, the Partners work with their staff to find a way forward which will accommodate both work and home life – that might mean flexible hours, working from home or a short-notice holiday. This has been demonstrated countless times during the recent pandemic.
It is lovely to work at a Firm where you as a person feel like you matter all of the time, not just 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, where ideas and opinions are always welcomed and taken on board, and where you can approach any one of the senior management team with a concern or worry without fear of reproach.”
- Kirsty Haines, Associate Legal Executive
“For a long time I thought there was no point in moving jobs because all law firms are the same. I was wrong, they are not. Moving to Fraser Dawbarns has been such a great career and life decision for me. As a Solicitor working in a busy department, I often felt that my work life balance was not where I wanted it to be. I am a mum to two young children and felt constantly guilty about missing out on time with them. Most other firms were not open to part-time working arrangements or flexi-time. Fraser Dawbarns were very quick to agree to the hours I proposed, as well as two work from home days a week. Consequently, I feel a much greater sense of balance and I know I can be available to my children when they need me. I get to be a playground mum as well as a career woman. Fraser Dawbarns have been very flexible; I can alter my work from home days if I need to or work from home if one of the children are poorly to avoid having to just ‘call in sick’.
I have never felt so well supported in any other job role, my immediate colleagues, wider team, and head of department are all extremely approachable, there are no ‘stupid questions’. The ethos is very much geared towards cohesive learning and development, without the isolation or pressure that often comes with career progression. I am part of a team at Fraser Dawbarns.
Fraser Dawbarns offer competitive salaries as well as other perks such as medical cover and a bit more annual leave than I have been used to elsewhere. The partners are very thoughtful of their employees for Christmas and other occasions such as anniversaries of service and retirement. As employees we matter.”
- Kim Neal, Solicitor
“I moved to Fraser Dawbarns in the middle of the pandemic, it was a risk, but definitely a risk that has paid off!
Having only worked for two firms previously (that being my entire adult life), the prospect of moving was daunting. However, I was immediately welcomed into the team and I have formed great relationships with my colleagues even though some are working remotely. The support from my team and my Head of Department has been wonderful, and it is great to work in a team where you know you can pick up the phone and have the support on hand. If you have a question, you know there is always someone to ask, no matter what that question is. The work is challenging and varied, and Fraser Dawbarns provides the most up to date resources and technology I have come across in my career.
Work aside, the support from other departments is second to none. I cannot say how great all our staff are - from reception to accounts to administration and IT, everyone is friendly and helpful. If you need it, there is personal support from HR, the marketing department and the Practice Director, which can be lost in other firms. No problem is too big, and I find that the focus really is on supporting you as an individual. Fraser Dawbarns have also supported me with my career development and in particular have been great whilst I have been studying for my Masters degree.
I could not recommend Fraser Dawbarns enough as a flexible, understanding and overall, a really lovely place to work. I am looking forward to a long career with Fraser Dawbarns.”
- Abigail Reynolds, Chartered Legal Executive
“I have worked for Fraser Dawbarns LLP for just over 6 years. I initially started at Fraser Dawbarns as a receptionist at our March office and then started working as a legal secretary in the Civil Litigation Department. I am now working in the Private Client Department at our Wisbech office, where I am now studying for my Paralegal apprenticeship. My experience is an example of how there are many opportunities for training and career progression. The firm are very flexible with working from home if I need to rather than being in the office.
I love working for Fraser Dawbarns, they have built up my confidence in what I do and have seen potential in me to help me progress further in the law firm which I never thought I would ever do. The firm and my colleagues are a joy to work with and I am very lucky to be able to say, “I love my job”.”
- Paige Etherington, Legal Secretary
“Fraser Dawbarns LLP is a great firm to work for with many staff benefits which include a Healthcare scheme for staff and their families. I started out as an office junior on reception and have since worked my way up to be an integral part of the admin team. The firm always looks out for the needs of its staff, and I could not wish to work for a better firm.”
- Kelly-Anne McGuinness, Practice Support Administrator
“The firm has a real family-feel and everyone pulls together as a team, which is something I really love. There is a strong mutual respect and support between all members of staff, which is comforting knowing that help is always on hand should I need it.
As a trainee licensed conveyancer, I have been trusted with my own workloads and responsibilities, which demonstrates that working to the best of my ability has been rewarded in the form of progress through the firm. I feel that my capabilities and 15 years of experience are recognised and that I am appreciated by my colleagues and the firm.
As a full-time working mum, the firm are flexible with working days and hours, with also the option to work from home when necessary, showing a genuine level of understanding and sympathy with challenges that modern life can bring. I think other companies can really learn from the ethics Fraser Dawbarns displays. I have been here just over a year, and I have never looked back.”
- Lydia Larkman, Assistant
“Fraser Dawbarns is a lovely firm to work for. They are very flexible when it comes to in office and home working whether you are a solicitor or a secretary, which has allowed me to be able to work for a great firm, even though I live a fair distance away from the office. They are supportive when it comes to career development but will never press you to go further than you want to. I can honestly say I have fallen on my feet and could not be happier working in the Fraser Dawbarns Team.”
