Neil John, who heads the personal injury team at Fraser Dawbarns, has settled the claim of a Wisbech man who was knocked from his bicycle by a car. He was a keen regular cyclist and was riding along a main road when he was hit by a car which turned out of a side road. His bicycle was destroyed and he suffered various injuries including fractured ribs.

Neil comments: “Government statistics reveal the positive news that pedal cycle casualties fell steadily over the decade from 2014 to 2024. However, cyclists are still very vulnerable and 87 were killed on Great Britain’s roads in 2023, with a further 3,942 seriously injured and almost 11,000 slightly injured. As the weather warms up and more cyclists take to the road, it is imperative that car, van and lorry drivers are alert to the whereabouts of cyclists and ensure that they allow ample space to go past them safely, whether they are solo cyclists or riding in a group”.
