Neil John is a Solicitor, Partner, and Head of the Civil Litigation department, based in the Wisbech office. Neil specialises in disputes and claims; he is particularly focused on personal injury, contentious probate, and employment matters.
Neil’s typical clients are those injured in road accidents, injuries at work and in public places, as well as employers and employees in employment cases. Neil particularly enjoys making sure that Claimants get what they deserve in their settlement, this stems from when he was involved in a road accident himself as a teenager. Neil’s clients can expect to receive a bespoke and personal service that is tailored to their specific needs.
Neil attended De Montfort University in Leicester where he achieved a 2.2 degree in Law and followed this with the Legal Practice Course in 1996.
After gaining his LPC in 1997, Neil completed his training contract at a firm in Great Yarmouth in 1997, qualifying as a Solicitor in 1999. Following qualification, Neil took up a position at a large regional practice in King’s Lynn and began his specialisation in personal injury.
For several years, Neil represented the members of a large Trade Union throughout East Anglia and into the East Midlands, so he is familiar with cases involving employer’s liability. Neil also co-founded the BMF Biker Legal Line in 2000 with Managing Partner, Iain Grimes, and they both sat on the management committee of this line from its inception.
Neil joined Fraser Dawbarns in May 2011 and was made a Partner in 2013, becoming Head of the Civil Litigation department in 2014. Recently, Neil has completed the course for the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists and works on files where Wills are disputed or distribution of estates are contested.
Outside work, Neil loves to ride his motorcycle and in October 2020 achieved his advanced riding qualification with the Institute of Advanced Motorists (30 years after passing the same qualification in a car). When not riding, Neil is a keen golfer and has been club captain 3 times, raising money on each occasion for varying charities. Neil also organises and runs (with lots of help) Fraser Dawbarns’ annual Charity Golf Day since it began in 2012. Neil also loves to cook and is often happiest when left in the kitchen.
I would like to give a big thank you to Rebekah and Paige for being there when I needed help and advice. If they could not give me the details straight away, they always rang me back with the answers to put my mind at rest. They never let me down. Well done to you both.Client - Wisbech Office
