Neil John, who heads the personal injury team at Fraser Dawbarns, has obtained a £35,000 settlement for a Norfolk pedestrian who was injured when a car reversed over her foot.  The woman lost her big toe as a result of the incident. The driver of the vehicle denied that the outcome was his fault and there was some disagreement about how the incident actually occurred.

Neil comments: “Losing, or losing the use of, any part of the body will change someone’s life to some extent. There are some guideline financial compensation starting points for injury claims in relation to loss of arms, legs, fingers or toes, but these also vary depending on whether it is the whole or part of the limb or digit that is affected and whether they are lost when an accident occurs or have to be removed surgically later on.  This particular incident was an unusual set of circumstances, but does not detract from the fact that our client now needs to adjust to life without one of her big toes.”
