Sophie King

Sophie King is a partner and solicitor in our Commercial department based at the King’s Lynn office. She is focused on commercial property work and related matters including sales, purchases, leases and development projects.

Sophie provides a friendly and practical approach to her clients’ work which she carries out in a clear and efficient manner.

Career

Sophie obtained her law degree at the University of Nottingham and then studied for her LPC at Nottingham Trent University, obtaining a distinction in 2012. She then worked as a paralegal at the Cambridge office of a national firm for a year before joining Fraser Dawbarns in 2013.

Sophie completed her legal training with the firm, qualifying as a solicitor in 2016. Throughout this process she gained experience in a wide variety of commercial property work in addition to other commercial matters such as business sales. Sophie then had two years working for another Norfolk law firm before re-joining Fraser Dawbarns in 2018. In November 2024, she was promoted to become a partner in the firm.

• Sale and purchase of commercial or agricultural buildings and land
• Commercial leases – acting for landlords or tenants
• Commercial finance and bridging loans
• Overage agreements
• Adverse Possession applications

Land and estate development

• Acting for developers acquiring sites, including by way of initial option agreement
• Dealing with planning/site agreements – including s106, s104, s38, s278, Golden Brick Agreements with Housing Associations
• Preparing ‘site set-up’ documentation ready for sale of completed properties
• Sale of potential development for landowners under an Option or conditional contract

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys fitness classes and long walks. Otherwise much of her time is spent with her young family.
