Simon Slater

Non-Executive Director

Simon has been working alongside the leadership team at Fraser Dawbarns since early 2025. He brings with him extensive and wide-ranging experience of law firm management, development and growth and is ideally placed to help the firm achieve its expansion plans over the next few years.

Career

In a 35-year career, Simon has been involved in shaping some of the UK’s leading professional service firms.

As marketing lead, he created and established the global brand for quoted real estate advisory firm DTZ plc (now part of Cushman & Wakefield plc) in the early 90s.

He then transformed the fortunes of Charles Russell (now Charles Russell Speechlys LLP), providing them with the platform for long-term growth which they still sustain.

Simon was a key member of the leadership team which planned and executed the unique seven-way merger to create Eversheds LLP.

He went on to serve as non-executive director of accountancy firm PKF Littlejohn LLP and more recently – as chief executive officer of Pemberton Greenish LLP – he negotiated and executed the merger with Cripps LLP.  He subsequently served there as non-executive director.

Simon also served as non-executive chair of leading legal PR firm Byfield Consultancy Limited and remains a senior adviser to the board.

Expertise

Simon’s extensive range of skills includes:

  • Strategic business planning
  • Leadership coaching
  • Advising on professional service firm mergers
  • Marketing, public relations and business development.

Personal Interests

Simon’s passion is music and he has an extensive vinyl collection. He enjoys playing the piano, but would rather listen to Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett and others do so properly.

Having been a cathedral chorister, Simon has a particular affinity with England’s cathedrals and makes occasional trips to visit them.

His other passion is supporting Liverpool FC. Meanwhile, he keeps fit himself by making regular visits to the gym and swimming pool as well as taking daily walks in the countryside.
