Partner, Solicitor

Seema Solanki is a partner and solicitor in the Private Client department based at the Fraser Dawbarns Ely office. She specialises in Wills, succession & estate planning, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, probate and elderly care matters. Her typical clients can range from high-net worth individuals, businesses, entrepreneurs, and academics, to families and all their generations.

Seema enjoys the challenge of overcoming problems by ‘thinking outside the box’ to find the best legal solution and plans for her clients. She especially applies this approach when reviewing succession and estate planning opportunities for clients and their families, such as tax-efficient lifetime giving and mitigating Inheritance Tax (IHT). Seema always strives to provide a high level of personal service with the aim of achieving her client’s objectives on tax efficiency and mitigating IHT in the best way possible.

Career

Seema studied Law at the University of Wales followed by the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law. After graduating and successfully completing her training contract, Seema qualified as a Solicitor in 2005 and has since practised in the Cambridgeshire area.

Seema is currently the Chair for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Cambridge committee, an international organisation committed to best practice in trusts and estates. She is also a fully accredited member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers, a national organisation looking into the welfare of the elderly and vulnerable members of society. In addition, Seema is a ‘Dementia Friend.’

Seema has a wealth of experience of working alongside executors, attorneys and trustees, assisting them with all aspects of their requirements. She uses a holistic and client-focused approach with the aim of resolving matters on her clients’ behalf in a professional and friendly manner.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Seema enjoys cooking for friends and family, travelling globally and fulfilling her passion for dancing, with a particular interest in Latin and ballroom dancing. She also enjoys yoga, cycling, walking and reading in addition to relaxing by watching a good movie.

Seema has an interest in giving back to the community and takes part in the local Sixth Form College’s annual mock interviews and assists with mentoring when required.
