Seema Solanki is a Partner and Solicitor in the Private Client department based at the Ely office. She specialises in all aspects of Private Client work, particularly focusing on Wills, Succession & Estate Planning, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and Elderly Care matters. Her typical clients can range from high-net worth individuals, businesses, entrepreneurs, and academics, to dealing with families and all their generations. Seema has a wealth of experience with working alongside Executors, Attorneys and Trustees, assisting them with all aspects of their requirements. Seema uses a holistic and client-focused approach with the aim of resolving matters on her client’s behalf in a professional and friendly manner.

Seema enjoys the challenge of overcoming problems by ‘thinking outside the box’ to find the best legal solution and plans for her clients; she especially applies this approach when reviewing succession and estate planning opportunities for clients and their families, such as tax efficient lifetime giving and mitigating Inheritance Tax. Seema always strives to provide a high level of personal service with the aim of achieving her client’s objectives on tax efficiency and mitigating Inheritance Tax in the best way possible. The Legal 500 has described Seema as having “an excellent grasp of client/lawyer relations, as well as having excellent technical knowledge.”

Seema studied Law at the University of Wales followed by the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law. After graduating and successfully completing her training contract, Seema qualified as a Solicitor in 2005 and has since practised in the Cambridgeshire area. She is renowned for her expertise and knowledge specialising in Private Client matters where she has the natural ability to put clients’ minds at ease and to comfort them, particularly when they are going through challenging and emotional time in their lives.

Seema is currently the Chair for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Cambridge committee, an international organisation committed to best practice in trusts and estates. She is also a fully accredited member of the Solicitors for the Elderly, a national organisation looking into the welfare of the elderly and vulnerable members of society, as well as a ‘Dementia Friend.’

Outside of work, Seema enjoys cooking for friends and family, travelling and fulfilling her passion of dancing, with a particular interest in Latin and ballroom dancing.
