People
James Davies
James Davies specialises in advising on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and Estate Administration. He joined the firm in 2017 and is based in our Downham Market office, having previously worked in the King’s Lynn and Wisbech offices.
James helps families to protect both their loved ones and their assets by ensuring that their wishes are recorded accurately and legally. Where needed he also advises on Inheritance Tax and succession issues, and can also support families where a Deputyship application is needed.
Following the death of a family member, James supports the executors of the Will to obtain the Grant of Probate or the family members to obtain the Grant of Letters of Administration (if there is no Will). He can then continue to assist by carrying out the wishes in the Will once the Grant of Probate has been obtained.
James is happy to see clients in the office or at home and can also attend clients at the hospital where necessary.
Career
James obtained his law degree at Sheffield Hallam University in 2002 and then completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Sheffield. James went on to undertaking his training contract at a firm in Peterborough, qualifying as a solicitor in 2005. He gained experience at other firms in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk before joining Fraser Dawbarns.
James has been awarded the STEP Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation.
