Chartered Legal Executive, Senior Associate

Jackie Jessiman is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, CILEx Litigator and Advocate (Family Law) and a Senior Associate in the Family Law team, based in the Ely office. Jackie advises on all aspects of family law but is particularly focused on advanced finance and cohabitation issues. Her clients range from cohabiting couples (whether married or unmarried, with or without children) to grandparents.

Jackie particularly enjoys meeting her clients, getting to know them, and assisting them to achieve the best possible outcome for their individual legal situation.

Career

Jackie began her career in law as a legal secretary at a firm of solicitors in Oxfordshire where she then commenced training as a Legal Executive. She qualified in 1995 and has since gained further specialisms in Advanced Finance and Cohabitation.

Jackie joined Fraser Dawbarns in 2018, having previously worked for firms in Henley, Reading, and Cambridge.

She is a member of Resolution, a community of family justice professionals who work with families and individuals to resolve issues in a constructive way.

Jackie is a committee member for Cambridge and Ely Contact Centres and has previously sat on the committee of the Cambridgeshire Law Society.

Expertise

Jackie’s extensive experience as a family lawyer is valued by her clients.  This includes expertise in the following areas:

  • Divorce and finances
  • Separation
  • Cohabitation agreements
  • The Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA) property disputes for cohabiting couples
  • Pre and post nuptial agreements
  • Child arrangements
  • Grandparents’ rights.

Personal Interests

Outside work, Jackie enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, walking her dog, Barney, travel, pasta-making, cooking and gardening.
