Fiona Thorpe
Fiona Thorpe is a member of the firm’s Disputes team and specialises in Will, Inheritance and Estate disputes. This is sometimes also referred to as Contentious Probate. Fiona works with clients from across the region from her base in the Wisbech office.
Fiona works with a wide range of clients who can expect her to approach matters with empathy and understanding, especially during challenging times, as well as a good understanding and application of the law.
Career
Fiona started her career in law at the Open University, studying part-time around her young family. She particularly enjoys the puzzle of figuring out the best course of action in challenging matters.
Before joining Fraser Dawbarns, Fiona worked as a magistrate at the Peterborough Criminal Court, as well as a paralegal and trainee solicitor, gaining legal experience at another local firm.
Fiona qualified as a solicitor in 2025.
Expertise
Fiona has a broad range of dispute expertise, but now focuses on:
- Disputes arising from Wills and inheritance planning
- Contentious Probate
- Disputes which arise when someone dies without a Will (intestate)
- Disputes surrounding inadvertent trustees and handling of a vulnerable person’s assets.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Fiona loves spending time with her children, keeping fit with strength training, and walking her two dogs. She also likes curling up with a good book.
