Finley Murdoch
Finley Murdoch is a member of the firm’s Agriculture & Renewables team and is based in the Wisbech office. He works alongside Daniel Ball on a wide variety of agricultural and renewables projects for landowner clients. Finley is also a member of the Agricultural Law Association.
Career
Finley qualified as a solicitor in 2025, having completed his training contract at Fraser Dawbarns. Prior to this he obtained his Masters of Law in Legal Practice at BPP Law School preceded by a law degree from Cardiff University.
During his time as a student Finley gained experience in various other sectors, including working for Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Expertise
Finley has gained a broad range of agriculture and renewables expertise, including:
- The purchase and sale of agricultural land
- The purchase and sale of large-scale farms and acting for lenders in connection with these farm transactions
- Agricultural Holdings Act tenancy work, including advising on succession on death and retirement and notices to quit
- Assisting farmers taking on a farm business tenancy including the preparation, negotiation and agreement of the tenancy
- Farm diversification and renewable energy projects including solar projects; battery sites; onshore wind developments and other large sale energy developments; power purchase agreements and wayleave agreements and other agreements associated with energy projects
- Farming partnership and succession matters
- Overage agreements
- Consolidation and organisation of land titles and deeds including all registration aspects
Personal Interests
Outside work Finley is a keen rugby and cricket player and represents both Wisbech Rugby Club and Wisbech Town Cricket Club.
