People
David Green
David Green is a very experienced employment law solicitor who advises commercial clients across the region on a wide range of employment law issues. David joined Fraser Dawbarns in 2022 after a long career in the City. He now puts his wealth of employment law expertise to good use for clients across East Anglia.
David has a wide range of experience in all aspects of employment law, both preventive and problem-solving. Over the years he has developed a particular niche in advising Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) and those operating in the charity sector. He has a further string to his bow as a qualified mediator.
While David’s technical knowledge is sufficiently in-depth for him to have been a contributing author to legal publications and a speaker on training courses to others in the profession, his approach to assisting clients is commercial, practical and approachable. Ideally, he seeks to work with businesses to ensure they have all the correct processes and documentation in place at the outset, leaving them best placed to deal with issues of TUPE transfer, merger, redundancy, grievances and so on when these arise. Recognising that the preventive steps have not always been taken, he is also adept at advising in house HR and management teams who find themselves unexpectedly in difficult positions with employees.
Career
David joined the first employment group to be set up in the UK at McKenna & Co, now part of CMS. He then moved to Clifford Turner, now Clifford Chance, and headed their employment group before starting his own employment law group in 1991 at Charles Russell, now Charles Russell Speechleys. The group expanded to have over 40 lawyers before David stepped down as Head of Employment in 2013 to become part of the senior management team. Following merger in 2015, he became a senior member of the management team at Charles Russell while continuing to practice employment law. From 2020 to 2022 he was Director of Human Resources at Charles Russell Speechleys.
