Fraser Dawbarns’ golf day raises £6,546 for local charities

Fraser Dawbarns hosted their annual charity golf day at King’s Lynn Golf Club yesterday, raising £6,546 to be divided between their current nominated charities. The charities chosen by the teams in the firm’s respective offices for support this year and through until April 2028 are: Breast of Friends in King’s Lynn; Cambridge and Ely Child Contact Centres in Ely; Ravenswood Pet Rescue in Wisbech; Arthur Rank Hospice Charity nominated by the firm’s March office; and West Norfolk Autism Group chosen by the Downham Market team.

The Golf Day comes close on the heels of a successful Treasure Hunt event held in Ely in May which raised £2,340 for the Cambridge and Ely Child Contact Centres. Future charity events include a Fenland Quiz in early July in Wisbech and a King’s Lynn Big Quiz in October. Any organisations who would like to put in a team for either of these are invited to contact events@fraserdawbarns.com

The recent events were attended by teams of professionals, clients and friends of the firm from across the region. This year’s golf tournament was won by Max Mace of NM Finance, Gavin Merrison of Goodman Bros, Louis McGuffog of Bourne Blinds and Stuart Wordley. Teams from Whitings LLP were on top form in the Ely treasure hunt and managed to scoop up both first and second places.

Neil John, a partner at Fraser Dawbarns who has been instrumental in organising the firm’s charity golf events in recent years, said: “We had 16 teams taking part this year and though we weren't blessed with sunshine, we raised a fantastic amount of money for our chosen charities in the excellent setting of King’s Lynn Golf Club. An enjoyable afternoon was had by everyone and we thank the teams who entered for their generosity. We are also grateful to other local businesses who kindly provided prizes for the raffle.”
