Marcus Chapman is a Solicitor and Senior Associate in the Civil Litigation department, based in the March office. Marcus has a background within personal injury, regularly undertaking instructions on all nature of personal injury and fatal accident claims on occasions in excess of £1 million. Marcus also deals with general civil litigation issues, handling issues relating to licensing, intellectual property disputes, defamation, professional negligence (Solicitors, Architects and Loss Adjusters), Trading Standards issues, and building and construction disputes.
Marcus has been involved in a number of interesting cases of note, acting for both children and adult Claimant’s following the Dr. Miles Bradbury/Addenbrookes Child Abuse Enquiry as part of an on-going class action.
In addition, Marcus assisted in successfully pursuing a multi-million pound breach of contract claim brought by a Formula 1 engine manufacturer against a Formula 1 racing team, and he has handled intellectual property disputes for the same client.
Marcus deals with a wide range of clients, from large corporations to members of the public and he particularly enjoys the adrenaline he gets from the work. Marcus’ clients can expect an extremely high quality service, tailored to their exact needs.
Marcus initially qualified as a Legal Executive in 1996, before studying for his LPC at De Montfort in Leicester, while working and playing rugby for Watton RFC. Marcus qualified as a Solicitor in 2003. Throughout his career, Marcus has worked for a number of law firms throughout Norfolk and for Norfolk County Council. Marcus was a partner at a firm based in King’s Lynn before joining Fraser Dawbarns.
Marcus played rugby from aged 9 until 45 years of age and was a governor at Watton Junior from 2009 to 2011, as well as a governor at Parkers VC Primary in Saham Toney between 2016 and 2019.
Outside work, Marcus enjoys real ale, watching rugby, and spending quality time, whenever he can get it, with his wife and two teenage kids.
