Janet Lane is a Solicitor and Senior Associate in the Civil Litigation department, based in the King’s Lynn office. Janet specialises in general civil litigation and is particularly focused on contentious probate, consumer disputes, and land/property disputes. Janet’s typical client ranges from individuals to small companies and partnerships.
Janet particularly enjoys getting a good result for her clients who can expect to receive straightforward and reliable advice.
Janet worked as a nurse for 23 years before studying law at the University of Hull, taking her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law in York.
After gaining her LPC, Janet qualified as a Solicitor in December 2004 and worked at high street firms in Scunthorpe and Hull, working her way up to joint Head of the Civil Department. Before joining Fraser Dawbarns in 2012, Janet was Senior Partner at a firm in Lincolnshire.
Janet is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), and in November 2016 she was appointed a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS). She is now a Registered Contentious Trust and Probate Specialist.
In the past, Janet has attended RAF Marham to provide free legal advice to RAF personnel and she also used to provide free legal advice for West Norfolk Disability Information Service (WNDIS), an organisation providing information, advice, and an advocacy service for disabled people and carers.
Outside work, Janet enjoys running, hiking, and travelling.
