April Davey is a Solicitor in the Residential Conveyancing department, based in the Downham Market office. April specialises in all aspects of residential property including: buy to let, remortgages, equity release, and transfer of equity. April works for a wide range of clients, each with their own individual needs and reasons for buying and selling property, ranging from experienced investors to clients looking to down-size on retirement to first-time buyers.
April loves it when she gets to tell her clients that they can collect their keys. She gets a real joy from knowing that she has helped someone into the next phase of their life. A person’s home is one of the most important aspects of their life and knowing that she has helped them to achieve their dreams, and minimised the stress and confusion of an often complex system, gives April real satisfaction. April also like being able to walk past all the houses she has dealt with in her town and say ”I did that one!”
April’s clients can expect to receive reassurance, calmness, clear explanations, and confidence that they are in caring hands that are there to protect them throughout their property transaction.
April studied for her Law LLB (Hons) degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, where she was Joint Chair of RAG for the Student Union, Senior Individual Mooting Champion and a Member of the Eldon Society (law society). April got a yellow belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and set up a Chocolate Society, to name just a few of the extra-curricular activities she was involved in.
April then took her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York and completed her training contract whilst working initially at a solicitor’s firm in York and then at a Cheshire firm. In 2015, April moved to a local law firm, where she worked until she moved to Fraser Dawbarns in 2017.
When April moved to the area, there was no PTA at her children’s primary school and April saw the opportunity to create this. April has served on the Committee for a number of years as both Chair and Secretary and now assists the current committee.
Outside work, April enjoys Yoga, cake making (in particular cake decoration) and walking her rescued racing greyhound with her family.
