Fraser Dawbarns’ Third Annual Charity Golf Day
The third annual Fraser Dawbarns’ Charity Golf Day took place on Friday 14th August in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support at Tydd St Giles Golf and Country Club.
The event was very well supported with 60 golfers taking part and even with dampening conditions, everyone remained in good spirits. The winning team was led by Lee Smith (former Club Captain of Tydd St Giles Golf Club) with an impressive score of 94 points. Everybody enjoyed a BBQ after the game as well as participating in the prize draw and raffle, which included a prize kindly donated by Majestic Cinema, to raise even more funds for the charity.
The event, including the raffle and prize draw, and Wheelers Accountants First Tee sponsorship raised £1505.60 for Macmillan Cancer Support which is a fantastic contribution for a worthwhile cause.
Fraser Dawbarns’ Member and current Club Captain Neil John said, “We are delighted with the amount raised for this wonderful cause as this charity is close to a lot of people’s hearts. We managed to beat last year’s sum and hopefully we can raise even more money for charity at next year’s golf day.” Managing Partner, Tony Cheetham, who presented the prizes, thanked everyone for their support.
Planning for next year’s Charity Golf Day is underway.
