We are inviting you to come along to our free event at the March Library on Friday 30 September 2022 (11am-12pm) where Kim Neal, solicitor in our private client department, will be discussing the importance and benefits of making a Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA). There will be opportunity at the end to participate in a question and answer with our specialist solicitor and refreshments will be provided. Those who attend will also receive an event exclusive discount on the service, if they wish to proceed following the presentation. However, there will be no obligation to sign up, please feel free to come along for some free expert advice.
It is of the common misconception that LPAs are simply just for the elderly; however, it is for anyone who wants peace of mind knowing that their financial affairs would be managed by the person they would wish if they were not able to do it themselves. This may simply be because you are going to be out of the country for an extended period of time and documents will need to be signed during that period. Alternatively, you may wish to have a Power of Attorney in place in case you are not able to make decisions about your affairs because of incapacitating illness or loss of mental capacity.
Too many people only think to make an LPA once capacity is in doubt and at that point it may already be too late. Making an LPA now will be much less stressful and more cost-effective than having to apply to the Office of the Public Guardian for a Deputyship after someone has lost mental capacity.
Other reasons you may benefit from having an LPA:
Making an LPA does not just give you peace of mind, it will give other family members the security of knowing what you want to happen in the future.
We look forward to welcoming you at the event where you will benefit from free expert legal advice on Lasting Powers of Attorney. We would appreciate if you could confirm your attendance prior by sending your details to firstname.lastname@example.org or alternatively, please feel free to just turn up on the day.
