Fraser Dawbarns Fourth Annual Charity Golf Day

Fraser Dawbarns held their fourth annual Charity Golf Day on Friday 12th August 2016. This year the event was in aid of the charity, Meningitis Research Foundation, which raises money to fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of Meningitis and Septicaemia. The charity also raises awareness of the diseases and supports those affected by the illnesses. As in previous years, the Golf Day was held at Tydd St Giles Golf and Country Club for which one of Fraser Dawbarns Members, Neil John, is the Club Captain.

This year’s event was well attended with 47 golfers and fortunately for them the sun was shining (as opposed to the wet and dreary day last year). The winning team out of 12 was led by Gordon Varley of Varley Orthopaedics with an admirable score of 85 points. 18 holes of golf were followed by an appetising BBQ also held at Tydd St Giles Golf Club, during which there was a raffle, prize draw and a prize giving celebration with awards and certificates for the winning team, second place, third place, longest drive and two nearest the pins.

1st place

We are very pleased that the event raised £1140.65 for the Meningitis Research Foundation. Gina Weston, an Ambassador for the Meningitis Research Foundation will be attending our next Charity Event on 17th September which is a Masquerade Charity Ball taking place at the Dukes Head Hotel in King’s Lynn. Gina Weston will be speaking at the Charity Ball telling her very personal story, and explaining the work that the Charity undertakes.
