“Love actually” your worships

Solicitor Advocate Neil Meachem recently ran the defence of “Love Actually” for the first time before the Justices at Kings Lynn Magistrates Court.

His client faced a serious charge of assault to his female partner. At first sight the case appeared ‘loveless’ and hopeless. The victim complained she was assaulted and strangled. The prosecution produced photographs showing considerable bruising to her shoulder and neck. A Defence medical expert however found that the marks were due to extreme suction rather than compression. More colloquially known as ‘love bites’.

Dismissing the charge the court found this was clearly “Love Actually” and not assault. On leaving the court the accused simply said, “Sometimes love hurts”.

Defence solicitor commented Fraser Dawbarns solicitors will always defend ‘clients with a passion’.
